Purpose: To prepare our hearts and minds for Jesus' birthday
celebration.
Advent refers to the first "coming" of the Messiah, our Savior
Jesus, and to look forward to his second coming. It is a time to "get ready"
and to remember that God came to Earth to save us and to forgive us,
so we can live in Heaven with him for eternity.
Advent Readings: Matthew 3:1-3, Luke 2:1-20, John 3:16, and
John 14:3.
This week think about how you can prepare for Advent. What specific
things can you
say, think, and do that will ready your heart and mind for the coming of our Savior's birthday celebration?
What You Do: Print this page. Copy the pattern onto white
cardstock paper. Instruct your class to write three specific ways that
they can "get ready" for Christ's birthday. Decorate the ornaments using glitter
glue.
